Since we're about to play the Old Dogs I dug up some old footage to see them in action and get a lil' feel for how they play. They may have a few new people but they play the same way. They love to pass to the open man and keep passing to throw off the D, so if we're on point it won't really work. Check out the video footage, like I said it's old footage and converting was a B, it doesn't look that great but check a bit of it out.

Winter 2006 Game 7: Old Dogs vs. Good Hope Legends
I know we've been talking about defenses to play against these guys. I personally suggest that we run a full court man press against them the whole game, at least to see how it works, or maybe a full court press and then set up into a 3-2 or 2-3 pass half court and just keep throwing them off. If you have any suggestions, leave a comment so coach can see what he might want to work with. We got this, they're definitely good, but they're old, we have to run them!

Are you MVP material? VOTE NOW!

The time has come...who's the MVP? Vote right here, right now for the Offensive and Defensive MVP. Your votes MUST NOT be annonymous and you may vote for yourself if you'd like. Also keep in mind there is only one vote per player per category (Offense and Defense). Kenny Wilson is unanimously the MVP Coach, hands down!

One More...
Just one more win away from a near flawless season before the postseason. Let's get that win! The post season will be filled with competition from the other gyms; including the only undefeated team, Hitsquad at the Longbranch gym. There are also a few others with little as one lost, so be ready and don't think it's just us. Soon enough we will know our rankings and I'll put up the play-off bracket to give everyone a heads up. Until then, practice hard and play well!

FYI #2: Fall Jerseys
I believe if your dress attire is organized, you feel organized, then most likely you will play organized. I was skimming through my new Eastbay and saw the same promotion on jerseys that was available during the summer. 2 reversible Mesh Tank Jerseys for only $19.99! I like that deal and if everyone is comfortable with that, that will be the dress code beginning this Fall '07.
The Jerseys will only be purchased from Eastbay while we will have arrangements for the lettering to be done at a cheaper price. Most likely the lettering will consist of: Team name on front, jersey number on back and front, and personalized names on the back. Depending on if people don't mind spending probably $5-10 bucks extra, the lettering will accommodate the reverse side as well. Just to give you an idea if jerseys and not shirts are our choice of uniform for the Fall '07, I'm predicting the total including registration fee to be somewhere around $75-95 per player. Again, there are many factors that still have to be account for; number of players, how much lettering, etc.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Zo or Kenny, peace!

FYI #1: Brand New, ADULT Men's FALL LEAGUE in effect!

As the GM of the team, I feel it is my obligation to notify everyone when certain matters regarding the team surface. I recently received an e-mail a couple days ago from the head of the Montgomery County Recreational Sports Department, Pat Sullivan. He is basically informing us that after popular demand, for the first time, there will be an Adult Men's FALL Basketball League starting the first week of September. There is plenty of time to register but lets not play that, "I'm not sure game", "I don't know if I'll have time". Everyone is a man, so man up! Find out what you need to find out, and do what you need to do if you want to run. It's as simple as that. If you want to be committed, state that. If you don't want to, can't, maybe or whatever, do like they taught all of us when we we're little, just say NO. It's not that hard, no peer pressure.
Anyways, now that the bs is out the way...registration begins Monday, July 16, 2007 and will end Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Seems like and really is a lot of time, but lets be real and keep this as organized as possible. If you need to save up $60-90 bucks, do it now, just as if you want those Jordan's.
I apologize for the many side tracks and/or inconveniences to anyone through this update but I'm really trying to keep it real, nothing personal to anyone. All ideas are accepted, so please offer your opinions. I appreciate everyone who wants to have fun, be committed, and be on a winning team!

Just to let everyone know the last 3 teams we play have a combined record of 8-4. In order to make it to the playoffs, we need to win the last 3 games or we will most likely end up playing the same team we play on the July 8th (The Warriors) in the first round of the playoffs which are the Warriors.
Remember teamwork and hardwork is gonna get us where we want to be.
